The natural terrain of Limnos, the island of Hephaestus, is a true mosaic. The clear sea, taming the sandy beaches surrounding the island, still seems to extinguish the lava once running in the now beautiful creeks of the island.

Limnos is rich in archaeological and historical monuments. It’s Byzantine castle built on top of a rocky mountain after the commandment of the emperor Andronicus Comnenus, still appears to be in command of Mirina, the capital and harbor of the island.

Mirina’s harbor is eternally beautiful, surrounded with brick-layered roads and graphical island houses, while we do promise you that any visit you make to the castle will be short, since the smells from the local taverns cooking fish and the desire for more of the local wine will drive you back to the city.
