Kea, known as Hydrousa in the ancient times and Tzia during the Turkish occupation, having as its capital Julida and as its harbor Koresia, has approximetly 2500 inhabitants. Historically it was a base for pirates and has rich historical monuments, among which are the ruins of 4 cities. 

If you are a nature and / or sea lover, we recommend you to visit the less touristy north east part of the island.
